| The Kettering based charity SOLVE IT, which raises awareness
and offers advice and counselling on the dangers of volatile
substance abuse, has been handed a massive cash boost.
SOLVE IT has been awarded £96,000 over 3 years by the
Lottery's Community Fund - and not surprisingly, they are
delighted.
"This is very welcome funding to a charity such as ours,"
said chief executive Barbara Skinner. "We are working
very hard to develop our services nationwide and to raise
our profile around the country, and the funding will be used
to further our work, and to secure future funding, for long
term financial stability.
"This is a tremendous boost for what we are trying to
achieve," said Barbara. "Charities fight hard to
raise the money they need to carry on their work, and this
funding will be of enormous help"
For many years SOLVE IT has been a driving force in raising
awareness, and educating young people to the dangers of solvent
abuse.
And their hard work has been recognised in Parliament. Said
Kettering MP Phil Sawford: "I really appreciate the work
SOLVE IT does in the local community, and I'm delighted that
this funding is going to an organisation that works with and
for young people, and educates them about the hazzards and
consequences of solvent abuse".
