There are several ways in which we would hope to engage parents and carers of the children and young people receiving VSA Awareness and Education.

Parent, carers and teachers VSA awareness events, offered prior to input with children and young people will, dispel fears, create knowledge, enhance parent/child/teacher communication and encourage discussion around VSA issues.

  • Parent and carer awareness and teacher training will strengthen the sessions provided to children and young people by opening a dialogue.
  • The skills of parents and teachers in VSA prevention are increased.
  • Accurate and appropriate information on VSA is provided.
  • Existing attitudes to VSA issues are challenged.
